Blackbird

Recently I've fallen in love with the song Blackbird. Particularly the version recorded by Sarah McLachlan. Although I am a big Beatles lover.

The simple yet difficult guitar line, the pounding beat, and the repetitive lyrics... It may not sound like the perfect mixture, but there's something about a great melody that just sticks in your brain.

The lyrics are metaphoric and uplifting. It's just incredible. It's hard to believe that the Beatles wrote something so poetic.

Blackbird singin' in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise

Blackbird singin' in the dead of night
Take these sunken eyes and learn to see
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to be free

Blackbird fly
Blackbird fly
Into the light of the dark, black night

Blackbird fly
Blackbird fly
Into the light of the dark, black night

Blackbird singin' in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise
You were only waiting for this moment to arise
You were only waiting for this moment to arise
